May Coop Raw Sauce Review

Hello friends, this post is dedicated to reviewing an essence called May Coop Raw Sauce. I saw it on Sephora while doing holiday shopping and it has really good reviews. Although this is a Korean skincare product, it seems like many Koreans have not heard of it. I decided to try the product out for myself in the dry winter months and would like to share my experience using it.

Warning: Post is image heavy
I ordered the 5.07 oz bottle and this is what the packaging looks like. The art design is made to look like a tree since the main ingredient is maple tree sap which is pretty clever and cute.

After opening the box, the bottle is wrapped in a canvas bag that feels like it's made of natural fibers (go nature!), which is a really nice touch. This is the first time I've ever opened skincare product packaging with a bag included.

You can watch this promotional video by Sephora that does a great job of explaining what it is and how to use it.

The consistency is watery, but slightly thicker than water. Like the video said, I thought it would be thick and sticky like maple syrup (the kind you drizzle on pancakes and waffles) but it really isn't. I tasted it and doesn't taste anything like maple syrup, it's bitter ._. Once the skin absorbs the Raw Sauce there is no trace of stickiness. The color is a pale yellow.

It also smells fragrant, but not sweet like maple syrup. The fragrance smells pleasant and not overpowering.

Serum or moisturizer must follow the Raw Sauce since this is only a toning essence. I find my skin much softer and moisturized after using it for a few weeks. I have not had any breakouts from this. To those who have sensitive skin, beware that this product contains alcohol. My skin usually burns and/or tingles from products containing alcohol but has not experienced adverse effects from the May Coop Raw Sauce. This will be a permanent part of my skincare routine.

Rating 5/5

Some may find $43 on the pricier side, but with each use only being 2-3 drops a little goes a long way and makes May Coop Raw Sauce a good purchase. Get yours here at Sephora
