Packaging: The box itself has the Inspire Me Korea label on it. The cute little drawings of architecture representing South Korea. There is even a cute thank you sticker indicating that the gifts were hand selected by the editors~ Once the box is open, there is tissue paper so it's still a mystery as to what is inside :P
Magazines: The first thing I picked out was the Inspire Me Korea magazines they create for its boxes. Inside you will find information about how Koreans celebrate the Christmas and the New Year as well as Korean phrases you can learn. Anything that improves my Korean is always a plus for me :P My favourite parts of the booklet is of course the Kdrama page which gives you recommendations and the interview page where they interview Korean Youtubers. The Christmas edition has Joan Kim (my favourite K-beauty youtuber <3 ) while the New Year edition has Woojong Oppa~ Lastly there are Korean recipes you can try to make at home and a page on the contents of the box.
Beauty: The beauty item for this box is the Koyangi (Cat) headband which comes in black and grey. Not only are they super cute and turn you into a cat but also doubles up as a headband that keeps your hair back during your skincare and makeup routine ^_^ If you want more beauty items, Inspire Me Korea has their own Beauty Box which you can buy with 10% OFF: KSTYLEFILES
I will be reviewing that box very soon!
Snacks: Firstly we have the Seaweed Laver Trays. The dumpling soup recipe given in the booklet goes well with seaweed. Just eating some butter rice with seaweed or even by itself is so good <3
Next we have the Haitai Honey Cheese Potato Snack. I've rarely tried Korean snacks but damn these are really yummy. If you like sweet and savoury flavours in one snack then you will love these!
The last snack is the Tteokbokki Snack. So I thought they were going to be super spicy and I'm not a big on spicy food which is weird since I'm Asian hahaha anyway they aren't too bad~ Tteokbokki itself is a popular Korean food made from soft rice cake, fish cake, and the sweet red chili sauce called gochujang.
So the final items is the Lucky Money Envelope (Korean: sae bae ton) and Korean Notebook. The money envelope is part of the new year tradition of receiving money from the elders. This is the same as receiving lucky pockets in Chinese New Year. The notebook is a cute addition to end the box. I think I'm going to use it to finally make a list of all the places I want to go to in Korea!
Overall Review: Damn this box has a lot to offer and at the price it comes at (£13.99/$17.22) it is a real bargain! Many korean subscription boxes are all based in the US so for this one to be based in the UK where I live is very special for me~ You guys should definitely check it out.
Till the next review~
Wendy
