K-pop Fashion Trend: Clothes with Taping

In the past fall, winter, and spring we've seen many idols promote wearing clothes with "tape" or "taping", which is different colored fabric or print usually running down the side of arms for tops and side of legs for bottoms. I've seen this first from Vetements with the bold design of the tapes hanging off, as you can see with NCT's Mark in the image below or in the buylink images at the bottom of this post.

Afterwards I've seen many brands such as Kappa (sometimes collaborating with Marcelo Burlon), Adidas, Off-White, and Korean brands follow the trend. Many sports brands used taping for their athletic wear. It reminds me of the classic Adidas 3-stripe design except it's one wide stripe instead. Most of the time there is contrast text and/or print on the taping for style but I have seen plain-colored stripes too.

I think the design is clean yet also a fashion statement. Taped clothing to me is good for casual and lounge wear while being stylish. If you really want to turn some heads you can go with the Vetements-style hanging tape.

As summer is coming, it's harder to display taping on tank tops and shorts although not impossible. I am looking forward to see what will be stylish in K-pop this summer since it looks like the weather is getting a little too warm for hoodies and joggers.

I wonder if this style will keep going, evolve, or stagnate in K-pop fashion in the upcoming seasons. I included some buylink images below so you can see more examples of the tape trend.
